The Colonies
The colonies didn't have much compared to the England. Its army was not well trained, its supplies were abysmal, and there were many deserters. On top of all that, there was the Tories. But, they should win because of what they did have; which was a common cause. The colonists fought for what they believed in, freedom of the oppressive British. The colonists fought with passion because they knew their prize would be well worth the pain of fighting off a larger, better trained army. Also, they had George Washington leading them; George W. helped boost morale and spirits in the worst of the times. He could get people to have faith in him and he did. And lastly, they had the French as allies. The French helped the colonies a lot and without them, the war would have continued longer or England would have won. The colonies should win because they knew what they were fighting for.
England
England, as opposed to the colonies, had every advantage. It had the world's most powerful army and navy, it had more supplies, and their soldiers were experienced and well trained. They should win because they had more numbers than the colonies; the British outnumbered the colonists by a lot. There was also the Loyalists, Tories, who were mostly people of high positions and who were employed by Britain. The British also had the advantage when it came to money. With that money, they hired thousands of German mercenaries, Hessians. The Hessians were basically butchers, so with that advantage and the advantage of the ability to provide their army with clothes and food, the British should win.
